How to Install Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Indicator with Set Files – Video Guide 

This page contains the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© set files and their corresponding Indicator MT4/5© set files, as well as step-by-step instructions and practical advice. To match the Matrix Arrows the EA trades on various symbols and timeframes, make sure to load the appropriate Indicator set files.

Before setting up, reduce the max bars in chart to 1000 in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Charts. If the max bars setting is too high, it may hinder the Indicator's speed, as it needs to process data from 10 indicators over many bars.

Verify your broker’s server time in the Marketwatch window to ensure compatibility. The set files are optimized for ICMarkets GMT+3 servers, so if your broker uses GMT+0, adjust all trading hours back by 3 hours. For instance: 

Start Hour: 12

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 22

End Minutes: 50

you need to change it to:

Start Hour: 9

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 19

End Minutes: 50

Notice: Loading the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© with its default settings will display arrows that differ from the ones the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© trades with on specific symbol set files. To ensure accuracy, load the corresponding indicator set files as previously detailed. 

Warning! If you’re trading only one set file, the default Risk % per trade of 3% is sufficient. For a few set files, adjust the Risk % to 1%-2%. For all recommended set files, it’s strongly advised to set the Risk % per trade to 0.5%-1% to minimize risk across symbols. 

How to Trade with Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© Using the Panel, Manually, or Automatically Without Any Set Files 

Important Configuration Before Running Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© 

Make sure to adjust the Max Bars in Chart setting in MT4/5 by navigating to Tools >> Options >> Chart and setting it to 1000 or a similarly small value. This adjustment prevents slow updates and potential freezing, as the EA calculates information from 10 indicators over the specified number of bars.

Before purchasing the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on MQL5.com Market, ensure you have an MQL5 community account. You can sign up here if needed: https://www.mql5.com/en/auth_register

1. Confirm that your MQL5 account has the required funds. Using your account balance is typically more convenient than a credit card.

2. Find the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on MQL5.com and go to its product page.

3. Click Buy or Rent to proceed with your purchase.

4. Choose your payment option and then click the green Next button to finalize your payment. 

5. Once your payment is complete, you’ll need to open your MT4/5 terminal to download and install your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©.

6. Log in to your MT4/5 terminal using your MQL5 account username, not your email or any other method. For example, my username is the last section of my profile URL: eleanna74 from https://www.mql5.com/en/users/eleanna74.

7. Head to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab and confirm that you’re signed in with your MQL5 account login.

8. Go to the Market tab at the bottom of your MT4 Terminal window, select the Purchased option on the left, and press the blue Install button for your purchased product. In MT5, open the Navigator window, expand the Market folder, and select Purchases. This opens the Purchases window on the right, where you can click the Install button for the product you recently purchased. 

Notice: If you can't see your purchase when you click the Purchased option, check the below mentioned issues:

Make sure that:

• that you have all the latest Windows Updates installed

• that you have Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge latest version installed on your computer or VPS

• that you are using the latest build of MetaTrader 4/5

• that you are logged into your MQL5 account in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab, using your login - NOT your email

• that your MQL5 account password is less than 10 characters (if your password is 10 or more characters - change MQL5 account password here)

In case you still don't see the product on the list of your purchases in the terminal, try the following:

1. Close ALL your MetaTrader terminals

2. Go to C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\Community

3. Delete all files starting from mql4.market.* and mql5.market.*

4. Open the MetaTrader terminal

5. Try to install your product again

9. To receive notifications regarding Matrix Arrow signals, it’s a good idea to configure email, terminal, and push notifications in your MT4/5 terminal. These notifications are sent by the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, not the EA.

10. To configure this, open MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Email tab, and fill in your email and server information to get notifications. Below is an example of what you’ll need to enter, along with a list of the SMTP settings for well-known email providers.

• In the SMTP server field you need to put your email provider’s SMTP address, you can see most of the popular providers below.

• In the SMTP login field you need to put your full email, for example: johnsmith@gmail.com

• In the SMTP password field, you need to put your email’s password.

• In the From and To fields, you need to put your full name a comma and then your email again, for example: John Smith, johnsmith@gmail.com

11. To activate push notifications, open MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Notifications tab, and input your MQL5 ID from your mobile or tablet. You can find the MQL5 ID in the MT4/5 mobile app by going to Settings >> Messages.

Additionally, your MQL5 ID can be found in the Settings >> Security section of your MQL5 account profile.

12. For Terminal alerts, ensure the appropriate option is selected in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Events tab. 

13. To allow the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to operate and trade Matrix Arrow Indicator signals, both products must be installed on your terminal. It's a good idea to load both the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© onto your chart for a full view of your trading environment.

Select the chart for your chosen symbol, then find the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© in the Navigator window on the left side of your MT4/5 terminal under Indicators >> Market and drag it onto your chart (or double-click it to apply).

14. Once the Indicator’s settings window opens, adjust the settings as desired, and make sure to check the notification settings located in the Inputs tab. The default indicator settings are already optimized and are ready to be used for different market behaviors.

15. After completing the setup of your Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, click OK. Remember, the default settings for all 10 indicators are specially optimized and ready for use on any instrument and timeframe. The Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© will now appear on your MT4/5 terminal. Adjust the Matrix height with your mouse, and you’ll be ready to trade with it! 

16. It’s time to attach the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the chart. You’ll find it in the Market folder under Experts within the Navigator window of your MT4/5 terminal. Drag it onto the chart or double-click it to add.

17. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© window will open. In the Common tab, check the boxes for Allow Auto/Algo Trading and Allow Modification of Signals. 

18. In the Inputs tab, if you want to trade with the on-chart Trade Panel of the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, set the first Use Panel option to true and change the second Used Indicator setting* to the Matrix Arrow Indicator.

* The default is set to Moving Average because, without it, the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, which must be purchased separately, would be required for the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to pass the MQL5.com Market validation, which isn’t technically possible. 

19. For trading manually or automatically with the on-chart Trade Panel, you do not need to adjust any further settings. Click OK, and you're good to go.

20. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trading Panel is now attached to your chart, directly above the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© Matrix window. You can move it to the top left or any other preferred location on the chart. After enabling Auto/Algo Trading on your MT4/5 terminal, you'll be ready to trade. 

Tip: If candlesticks are appearing over your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, right-click on the chart, select Properties, head to the Common tab, and untick the Chart on foreground option. 

21. When trading manually, select the desired timeframe and configure the basic trade parameters. If you want to open trades with a fixed lot size, type your preferred lot size (e.g., 0.10) in the Fixed Lot Size field. For percentage-based risk, tick the Risk % box and enter your desired risk (e.g., 2.0%). You can also set Take Profit, Stop Loss, Break Even, and/or Trailing Stop Loss values. To close trades based on an opposite signal, enable the Close by Opposite Signal option. 

22. For fully automated trading with your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trade Panel, simply adjust your settings and select the Full Algorithmic Trading option. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© will then open a buy trade for each new blue/long arrow and a sell trade for each new red/short arrow signal. 

23. If you want to trade automatically with your Matrix Arrow EA’s MT4/5© Trade Panel, you can simply put your desired settings and click the Full Algorithmic Trading option. If you do that, the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© will open a buy trade on every new blue/long arrow signal and a new sell trade on every new red/short arrow signal. 

WARNING: The Trade Panel settings cannot be moved to your MQL5 VPS. To trade automatically on the cloud with the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© using your MQL5 VPS, set Use Panel: false and modify the internal settings of the EA as described below. Once done, click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal to synchronize with your MQL5 VPS. 

Important: Make sure to adjust the Max Bars in Chart setting in MT4/5 by navigating to Tools >> Options >> Chart and setting it to 1000 or a similarly small value. 24. If you want to trade using the provided set files for many symbols and don't prefer the on-chart Trade Panel, simply attach the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the specific chart and timeframe for your instrument. Open the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© window and click the Load button in the bottom right to select the appropriate set file. The latest set files and monthly updates for the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© can be accessed here. 

Simply click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal to activate 100% automatic trading. When the small EA icon in the top-right corner of your chart turns green and smiling, it means that your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© is functioning as expected.

25. To ensure uninterrupted trading, the only thing left is securing a reliable power and network connection. Using an MQL5 VPS (virtual private server) will keep your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5 running 24/7 on the cloud. 

26. If you haven't purchased a virtual server yet for your trading account, simply right-click on your account number in the Navigator window and select >> Register a Virtual Server. 

27. When the Virtual Hosting Wizard window appears, choose the plan that fits your preferences and then click the Next button. 

28. Then you complete your payment. I suggest having the necessary funds available in your MQL5 account and use the MQL5 method of payment on the left. 

29. After you've completed your MQL5 VPS purchase, you need to synchronize your trading environment with your virtual server. You right click on the MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and choose >> Synchronize experts, indicators.

Notice: Remember that you need to load the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© too on every chart, along with the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, before you migrate your local trading environment to MQL5 VPS. If you don't load the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© too, the MQL5 VPS Journal will print an indicator loading error.

30. After a short wait, the smiling face of your Expert Advisor will turn into a sad face, and the Auto/Algo Trading button will be deactivated. This indicates successful synchronization with your MQL5 VPS. 

31. To check that synchronization was successful, review the MQL5 VPS Journal logs. Right-click on your MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and click >> Journals. 

32. In the Journals section of your MQL5 VPS, you need to locate this message:  

33. With your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© successfully synchronized, they are now trading in the cloud. 

34. You can now close your MT4 terminal and computer with confidence that your Expert Advisor will keep trading 24/7. 

35. Be sure to check the MQL5 VPS Journal every few days to confirm that everything is running as it should. 

WARNING: Once your trading environment is synchronized with the MQL5 VPS, you DO NOT need to click the Auto Trading button again in your local MT4/5 terminal, as doing so will result in trading twice with your Expert Advisor, which is dangerous.

If you want to trade the Matrix Arrow signals with your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, you must purchase the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© separately! Otherwise the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© will work as a manual trade panel only.
